Terms of Use

1. About the Application

PogoDex is a free, independently developed Android application that allows users to track their Pokémon GO collection. It is a personal fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., or The Pokémon Company International in any way.

The application is provided free of charge and is supported by in-app advertisements delivered via Google AdMob.

2. Intellectual Property

PogoDex displays names, sprites, and other content that are the intellectual property of their respective owners:

• Pokémon names, characters, and imagery are trademarks and copyrights of Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., and The Pokémon Company International.
• Pokémon GO is a trademark of Niantic, Inc.
• Sprite images are sourced from PokéAPI and the community Pokémon GO Wiki (Fandom) and are used for informational, non-commercial fan purposes.

We make no claim of ownership over any Pokémon-related content. This app is purely a fan tracking tool and does not generate revenue from Pokémon content itself — only from general advertising.

3. Advertising

The application displays advertisements via Google AdMob. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Ads may be displayed within the application.
• Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and other data as described in our Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
• You may see personalised or non-personalised advertisements depending on your device settings and applicable laws.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PogoDex only for its intended purpose — personal, non-commercial tracking of your Pokémon GO collection. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the application.
• Use the application in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws.
• Attempt to interfere with the operation of the application or its data sources (PokéAPI, GitHub, Fandom).
• Use the application for any commercial purpose without written permission.

5. User Data and Backups

Your collection data is stored locally on your device. You may optionally sign in with your Google account to enable cloud sync via Firebase Firestore.

• Without an account: you are solely responsible for maintaining backups using the app's built-in Export feature. We are not responsible for any loss of locally stored data.
• With Google Sign-In: your collection and in-game name (IGN) are stored in Google Firebase, associated with your Google account. Signing out stops further syncing but does not delete existing cloud data. To request deletion of cloud data, contact us at sandan.apps@gmail.com.

We are not responsible for data loss caused by uninstalling the app, clearing app data, device failure, or Firebase service interruptions.

6. Google Sign-In and Accounts

PogoDex offers an optional Google Sign-In feature powered by Firebase Authentication. By signing in you agree that:

• You are using a Google account that you own or are authorised to use.
• Your collection data and IGN will be stored in Google Firebase and may be accessible from other devices where you sign in with the same account.
• You can sign out at any time from within the app. To request full deletion of your cloud data, contact us at sandan.apps@gmail.com.

Use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.

7. Third-Party Services

PogoDex relies on third-party data sources and services, including PokéAPI, GitHub, Pokémon GO Wiki, Google AdMob, Firebase Authentication, and Firebase Firestore. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or changes to these services. If a third-party service becomes unavailable, certain features of the app may stop functioning.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

PogoDex is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The application will be error-free or uninterrupted.
• Pokémon data (names, sprites, release dates) will always be accurate or up to date.
• The application will be compatible with all Android devices or OS versions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of PogoDex shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the application, including but not limited to loss of data.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
